Penis enlargement gone wrong: how correction is sequenced in Busan — remove, rebuild, then re-enlarge.

Men arrive at Urogyn, Busan Seomyeon, with lumps, hardness, deformity or pain months or years after an enlargement elsewhere — filler, fat, injected vaseline or silicone. The instinct is to ask for it fixed and enlarged again in one go. The honest answer is a sequence: remove what is causing harm, rebuild skin if it was lost, and only then consider re-enlargement. This guide explains why that order, and what each stage costs.

What readers ask before they message us
  1. Can you remove the old material and enlarge me again in the same operation?
  2. I do not know what was injected — can you still help?
  3. Will I lose skin, and how is that fixed?
  4. How long before I can be enlarged again?
  5. What will the end result look like compared with before any of this?

Each is answered below, in the order the surgeon would take you through it at our Seomyeon clinic — starting with the one question that gets the same answer every time.

The sequence in one view — correction after enlargement complications at our Busan clinic

Correction at Urogyn in Busan Seomyeon runs in three stages that are not combined. Remove: hyaluronic filler is dissolved with hyaluronidase (₩1,500,000); injected vaseline, silicone or paraffin is surgically excised (from ₩1,500,000); migrated or lumpy fat is removed. Rebuild: where removal leaves a skin shortage, a VY flap (₩2,500,000) or scrotal flap reconstruction (from ₩8,000,000) covers it. Re-enlarge: only after the tissue has healed — months, not weeks — with MFDS-approved filler or a dermal graft. The first stage is not optional, and the third is.

Men who want one operation to do all three are told, in writing before they travel, why that is not offered. Placing new material into tissue that is inflamed, scarred or still harbouring the old material gives a worse result than the one being corrected, and sometimes an infection. The removal page and the reconstruction page describe the first two stages in detail.

1 · Remove
First, always

Filler dissolution ₩1,500,000 · vaseline / silicone excision from ₩1,500,000 · lumpy fat removal. Stops the harm.

2 · Rebuild
If skin is short

VY flap ₩2,500,000 · scrotal flap reconstruction from ₩8,000,000. Often staged.

3 · Re-enlarge
Months later, optional

MFDS-approved filler from ₩1,700,000 or dermal graft from ₩3,900,000, once tissue is quiet.

What goes wrong, by material — what a Busan urologist sees

Hyaluronic filler, done well with an approved product, rarely causes serious problems; done badly or with an unknown product it causes lumps, migration toward the glans or scrotum, uneven contour and occasionally inflammatory nodules. Fat grafting can leave firm lumps where fat has died, or an irregular, lumpy shaft where it survived unevenly. Injected vaseline, paraffin, silicone or oil — still done illicitly in some countries — causes the worst problems: a hard, deforming mass under the skin, chronic inflammation, skin breakdown, pain, and in time ulceration; it does not resolve on its own and worsens over years. Implanted beads, rings or non-medical objects can erode the skin or restrict erection. Our MFDS approval guide explains how to check what was used, and filler vs fat vs dermal covers how approved methods are meant to behave.

  • 1 Filler lumps or migration. Dissolve, wait, reassess. Often no further surgery needed.
  • 2 Fat lumps. Excise or liposuction the nodules; skin usually intact.
  • 3 Vaseline / silicone / paraffin. Surgical excision of the mass with the involved skin; reconstruction frequently needed.

Assessment: the ultrasound that decides the plan

The first visit at our Seomyeon clinic is an examination and a penile ultrasound (₩200,000). The scan shows what the material is — hyaluronic filler, fat, oil-based granuloma — how deep it sits, whether it has reached the glans or the erectile bodies, how much skin is involved, and whether there is active inflammation or infection. From that we tell you, in writing, which stage-one procedure applies, whether a skin shortage is likely after removal, and whether re-enlargement is realistic later. Men who do not know what was injected are common; the ultrasound usually settles it, and when it cannot, the material is identified at surgery. The men's health hub lists the assessment items.

If there is infection or an open wound. That is treated first — antibiotics, dressings, sometimes urgent drainage — and the planned removal waits until it has settled. Message us immediately rather than waiting for a planned trip.

Stage one: removal — what each involves

Filler dissolution is an injection of hyaluronidase into the filler under local anaesthesia, taking minutes; the filler softens and is absorbed over days, and a second session is sometimes needed. It costs ₩1,500,000 and leaves the skin intact. Fat nodule removal is a small excision or liposuction under sedation. Vaseline and foreign-body excision is the major operation of the three: under sedation or general anaesthesia the granuloma is dissected off the erectile bodies and removed together with the skin it has infiltrated, because leaving infiltrated skin leaves disease behind. Listed from ₩1,500,000, with the figure set by extent after the ultrasound. Our guide to how anaesthesia is chosen covers the pre-operative checks.

About the clinic →

Stage two: rebuilding skin when removal leaves a shortage

Removing infiltrated skin can leave the shaft short of cover. Where the shortage is partial, a VY advancement flap(₩2,500,000) brings adjacent skin forward in the same or a second operation. Where most of the shaft skin is lost — common after extensive vaseline injection — a scrotal flap reconstruction(from ₩8,000,000) uses the scrotal skin, with its own blood supply, to resurface the penis, usually in two stages several weeks apart. Reconstruction is about restoring a penis that heals, functions and can be lived with; it is not yet about size. Our VY vs Z-plasty guide covers the smaller skin problems.

The waiting period: why months, not weeks

Between removal or reconstruction and any thought of re-enlargement, the tissue has to become quiet: swelling gone, scars soft, no residual inflammation on ultrasound, skin supple and mobile over the shaft. That takes three to six months after dissolution or simple excision and six to twelve after reconstruction. Re-enlarging earlier places new material into scar that holds it unevenly and into tissue that may still be reacting, which is how a second complication is created. Men who have travelled to Busan for stage one are reviewed by photo and, where possible, a local ultrasound during this period, and told when the tissue is ready — or that it is not yet.

Stage three: re-enlargement — if and when

Once the tissue is quiet, re-enlargement is a fresh decision, not an obligation. Many men, having lived through the correction, choose a conservative result or none. For those who proceed, the options are the same approved methods as for any first-time patient: MFDS-approved hyaluronic filler from ₩1,700,000, reversible and conservative, or a dermal graft from ₩3,900,000 where skin quality allows. Fat grafting into previously operated tissue is less predictable and is advised against in most corrected men. The girth hub sets out the methods; the realistic expectation is a natural, even result, not a return to the size the original injection produced.

Fitting correction into trips to Busan

Filler dissolution is a single visit with a next-day check; you can fly the day after. Fat nodule removal needs three to five nights. Vaseline excision with or without a flap needs seven to ten nights, and a staged reconstruction means two trips several weeks apart or a longer single stay; we plan this with you and the Seomyeon hotel guide lists walking-distance options. Re-enlargement, months later, is a separate trip. Our flying after surgery guide covers the flight timing for each.

How it runs at our Busan Seomyeon clinic — and your next step

Message us with what was done, where and when, what material if you know it, what the problem is now — lumps, hardness, pain, skin changes, deformity — and photographs in good light, flaccid and if possible erect. We reply in writing with what the material most likely is, which stage-one procedure applies, whether reconstruction is likely, and the figures. If there is infection or an open wound, say so first and we respond the same day. Nothing is booked until you confirm and no deposit is taken. The clinic is one minute from Seomyeon Station exit 7; the contact page has directions.

Two more questions we hear on the day
  1. Will the penis be smaller after removal than before the original injection? Usually it returns to approximately its original size once swelling settles. Where infiltrated skin had to be removed, reconstruction restores cover but the shaft can be somewhat tighter until the flap matures. We show you expected outcomes honestly before surgery.
  2. Is vaseline removal covered by insurance? For international patients, no. We issue itemised English documents for private insurers; reimbursement depends on the policy and the fact that the original injection was elective.

Correction after enlargement complications — FAQ

Yes, in a sequence. At Urogyn in Busan the harmful material is removed first — filler dissolved (₩1,500,000), vaseline or silicone excised (from ₩1,500,000), fat lumps removed — then skin is rebuilt if removal left a shortage, and only months later is re-enlargement with approved methods considered.
Because new material placed into inflamed, scarred tissue or beside residual old material gives a worse result than the one being corrected and risks infection. The tissue must be quiet — three to six months after simple removal, six to twelve after reconstruction — before anything new is placed.
Yes. The ₩200,000 penile ultrasound usually identifies the material — hyaluronic filler, fat or an oil-based granuloma — and its depth. When it cannot, the material is identified at surgery. Not knowing is common and does not prevent treatment.
Vaseline, paraffin and silicone infiltrate the skin, which has to be removed with the mass. Partial shortages are covered with a VY flap (₩2,500,000); extensive loss is resurfaced with a scrotal flap reconstruction (from ₩8,000,000), usually in two stages. Filler and fat removal rarely cost skin.
Three to six months after filler dissolution or simple excision; six to twelve after reconstruction. The tissue must be soft, mobile and free of inflammation on ultrasound. Re-enlargement is then a fresh choice with MFDS-approved filler or a dermal graft; fat grafting is generally advised against in corrected men.
Filler dissolution: one short visit. Fat nodule removal: three to five nights. Vaseline excision with or without a flap: seven to ten nights, or two trips for a staged reconstruction. Re-enlargement months later is a separate trip. Follow-up between trips is by photo.
Three things: removal and re-enlargement in one operation, complete removal of every trace of injected material, or a final size matching what the original injection produced. Realistic expectations are a penis that is healthy, comfortable and even, with conservative re-enlargement later if you still want it.
Ready When You Are

Send photos and what you know. We will set out the sequence in writing.

What was done, when, what material if known, what the problem is now and photographs are enough for our surgeon in Busan to say which removal applies, whether skin will need rebuilding, and what each stage would cost — and to respond the same day if there is infection.
